Effective Date: January 1, 2026 · Last Updated: May 1, 2026 · This policy applies to WP Smart Backup Pro customers and wpsmartbackup.com visitors.
When you purchase a Pro license, we collect your name, email address, and billing information (processed securely by Stripe — we never store raw card numbers). This information is used to issue your license, send receipts, and provide support.
To validate Pro licenses, our licensing server (api.robustsoftech.com) receives your license key and the URL of the site activating it. No other site data is transmitted. The free version makes no external requests whatsoever.
If you contact us for support via the WordPress.org forums or email, we retain your messages to track and resolve your issue. We do not share support communications with third parties.
We use your email and license key to generate, deliver, and validate Pro licenses. License checks occur when you activate the plugin on a new site.
We send purchase receipts, license keys, and renewal reminders. These are transactional — not marketing — and cannot be opted out of while your license is active.
Aggregated, anonymized usage patterns (e.g., which backup types are used most) may be used to inform product decisions. No personally identifiable information is included.
Customer data is stored on servers operated by Robust Softech Private Limited, located within the European Union. Payment processing is handled by Stripe Inc., which is PCI-DSS Level 1 certified.
All communications with our servers use TLS 1.2 or higher. Passwords are hashed using bcrypt. We do not store credit card numbers or CVV codes.
Account data is retained for as long as your license is active, plus 7 years for legal and tax compliance. You may request deletion of marketing data at any time.
Payment processing is handled by Stripe. Stripe's privacy policy is available at stripe.com/privacy. We receive a token and last-4 digits — never your full card number.
If you configure Google Drive, Dropbox, or Amazon S3 as backup destinations, backups are transmitted directly from your server to those services. We have no access to your cloud storage credentials or backup files.
The free plugin is distributed via WordPress.org. Plugin download statistics are collected by WordPress.org under their own privacy policy.
You may request a copy of all personal data we hold about you at any time by emailing privacy@wpsmartbackup.com.
If any information we hold is inaccurate, contact us and we will correct it promptly.
You may request deletion of your account and personal data. We will process requests within 30 days, subject to legal retention obligations (e.g., tax records).
You may unsubscribe from marketing emails at any time using the unsubscribe link in any email. Transactional emails (receipts, license keys) cannot be disabled while your license is active.
Our marketing website uses minimal cookies: a session cookie for authentication on the customer dashboard, and analytics cookies (privacy-respecting, no cross-site tracking). You may decline non-essential cookies via the cookie banner.
The WordPress plugin itself sets no cookies on your site or its visitors' browsers.
For privacy-related requests or questions, contact: privacy@wpsmartbackup.com. We respond within 5 business days. For support questions, use the WordPress.org support forum.
